“I’m preparing in advance for what I need to do.”
KT Wiz infielder Kim Sang-soo, 33, left the Chungden Samsung Lions before the season to join KT. He signed a four-year contract totaling 2.9 billion won, and he’s starting a new chapter in his baseball career with KT.
Kim has been an indispensable player for KT since he arrived. He’s been an integral part of KT’s infield, as the team has been struggling with injuries and the absence of Shim Woo-joon due to his military enlistment.
“It’s going to be tough for Sang-soo,” KT coach Lee Kang-cheol said when we met before the game against the Suwon Kiwoom Heroes on the 24th.
In 39 of the team’s 40 games prior to the 24th, Sang-soo was batting .273 with 35 hits, 13 RBIs, and 15 runs scored. With only three errors, he has been a valuable contributor to the offense.
Kim’s performance in the 24th game was no different. He batted second and started at shortstop. Although he made a throwing error in the second inning, he was otherwise steady, especially in the third inning when he scored the winning run with runners on first and third base. On the day, Kim Sang-soo had two hits and two RBIs to help KT win 4-1.
Manager Lee Kang-cheol praised the team after the game, saying, “Among the beasts, we were able to win thanks to Kim Sang-soo’s great performance throughout the offense.”
After the game, Kim Sang-soo said, “I’m happy to hit the game-winning hit for the team. I’m feeling good at the moment. I went into the game confidently because I had a good at-bat the day before (on the 23rd), even though it was a no-hitter. I prepared for what I needed to do in advance by getting my bat timing right in every training session.”먹튀검증
She had two hits, including the game-winning hit against Ahn Woo-jin. She is now 2-for-8 on the season. Ahn is one of the best pitchers in the KBO, with a sub-one earned run average and leading the league in strikeouts. What was the key to his two-hit performance?
“My opponent is one of the best pitchers in Korea, so I was aggressive with my bat and it paid off,” he said. “The team’s performance hasn’t been great lately, so the mood could be down, but I hope we can get a win like this to boost the team’s morale.”
“Our goal this year is to win the team championship. Thanks to the coaching staff’s consideration, I don’t have any physical problems, and I want to play as many games as possible to help the team win.”
