Park Seung-ho shows up at airport on crutches “Sorry, friends…thank you for the good grades”

U-20 National Team striker Park Seung-ho (Incheon United), who returned home early after suffering an ankle injury during the FIFA U-20 World Cup Argentina 2023, was greeted by his teammates at the airport.

The U-20 team’s head coach Kim Eun-joong (44), coaching staff and players arrived at Incheon International Airport through Terminal 2 on Thursday afternoon and held a homecoming ceremony organized by the Korea Football Association at the airport’s Transportation Center 2.

At the event, midfielder Bae Jun-ho (Daejeon) said, “There are many foods that come to mind. I want to eat spicy food,” and goalkeeper Kim Jun-hong (Gimcheon) joked, “The most threatening shot in the first match against France was Park Hyun-bin’s (Incheon) shot on the Korean goal.” The event was held in a friendly atmosphere.

The event was also attended by Park Seung-ho, who had to return home from the tournament due to injury. He was wheeled to the event in a wheelchair and sat down on crutches.

Earlier in the day, Park went to the ground in pain after scoring a dramatic equalizer in the 17th minute of the second group game against Honduras on June 26 (KST) to make it 1-2.

He was later diagnosed with a fractured ankle and damaged ligaments by local medical staff and returned home early to undergo surgery.

Park Seung-ho said, “I feel sorry for the kids. I’m sorry for them, but I’m grateful that they did well enough and brought home good grades,” he said, adding that he was grateful to his teammates.

As for the outcome of the surgery, he said, “Fortunately, it went well, and I think I’ll be back as soon as possible if I focus on my recovery.”

Lee Young-joon (Gimcheon), who was left alone on the front line due to Park Seung-ho’s injury, expressed his camaraderie, saying, “Seung-ho scored a goal (against Honduras), so we were in a good situation, and thanks to him, we got the fourth place result.”먹튀검증

“It’s true that the players didn’t get much attention before the tournament,” Kim said, “but through this tournament, they proved it, and I saw that they have unlimited potential,” he added.

“I want them to go back to their teams and win the competition against themselves, win the competition against their seniors, and play a lot on the field,” he said. “I want them to grow a lot in the future of Korean soccer. As a coach, I want to say thank you very much.”
