Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is speeding up his plans to trim the Chelsea squad.
“Pochettino has put Mark Cucurella on his list of potential departures this summer,” the London Evening Standard reported on May 5 (KST).
Cucurella joined Chelsea last August from Brighton & Hove Albion. Chelsea had high hopes for Kukurella, spending a record £55 million to sign him.
However, he hasn’t lived up to the hype. Kukurela struggled to adapt to Chelsea. He had a burglary at home and couldn’t focus on soccer.
It looks like he’s finally parting ways with the Blues. According to reports, Chelsea will be looking to offload surplus resources, including Kukurela, this summer in order to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) and free up funds for new signings.먹튀검증
The releases are not expected to be difficult. “Recouping the £55 million spent on his signing will be difficult, but there are still plenty of clubs willing to invest in his potential,” the outlet said.
